Just something to put on your calendar. Orrville senior Jacob Bolyard will participate in the Ohio North/South All-Star game on Sunday April 18th at Capital Univesity in Columbus.
Because of the basketball teams' tournament run, this will be the only post-season all-star game that any Red Rider (boy) will take part in.
Jake will play in the Div. 3/4 game for the North team and will join fellow standouts Brook Turson (Plymouth, 2000 pt. career scorer), Aaron Craft (Findlay Liberty-Benton, Ohio St. commit), Chall Montgomery (Cleveland Central Catholic, US Naval Academy commit) and fellow Wayne Countian Corey Caldwell (Smithville)
Here's the entire roster for the North squad.
The South team will be led by a familiar face, Joe Graessle of Columbus Bishop Ready. Here's their entire roster.
The game kicks off at 3:45pm or shortly after the completion of the 2 girls game scheduled to preceed it.
Capital U. is just east of I-71 right in downtown Columbus. Here's a map if you're interested.
Darrin Harris of Mansfield Senior will also play for the North team during the Div. 1/2 game that will following the Div. 3/4 game at around 5:30pm.
So there you go. I'll try and post a result from this game and how Jake does.....but if anyone is planning on attending and wants to be a roving reporter and take a few pictures even, the blog (and those who read it) would be grateful. You know where to find me.
