I got the text around 8:30pm on Saturday night, it was from a friend who happened to be diehard Indianpolis Colt fan. She said Tim Hiller was a Colt.
I wasn't sure if I was being teased by a homer Colt fan or if this was the real deal. That would be too perfect of a fit for Tim. The possibility of being able to learn & mentor under arguably one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks ever in Peyton Manning. What an opportunity.
A quick check of the internet gave me all the confirmation I needed. Tim Hiller was indeed an Indianapolis Colt.

A paying gig.
It's been two years since I started this blog, and along the way there have been some watershed moments that I considered significant. Being mentioned and linked by the Mansfield News Journal website, getting to do the weekly Daily Record football picks and plugging the site, and writing for Orrviews and getting a press pass for the state semifinal game. All of those things were great, but yesterday and today may have topped them all.
As of Saturday April 24, 2010, I can officially say that a story I wrote was published in The Daily Record.

Apparently there's an OCC All-Sports Title
Why don't we hear more about this? I think I know....because we (Orrville) has never won it.
Since the inception of the league in school year 2003-04, only Wooster (once) and Lexington (5 times) have won the All-Sports title.
Will the outcome be any different this year? I have no idea. But there's one way to find out.
Get out your calculators, kids.

Fieldturf at Orrville: A Visualization
If you've read this site for any length of time, you've seen my list of Northeast Ohio field turf stadiums....but what would a turf field look like in Orrville? Here's a humble submission. Again, it's just as doubtful as the Smitty Fieldhouse that I posted here a while ago, but, as before, we can dream can't we?
Again, this is all in fun, and just for discussion. That being said...how about we throw a few extra mils on the levy and get this done? LOL.

Mo Tipton...Hall of Famer...again.
I've been sitting on this for over a month because I didn't want it getting buried in all the winter sports items. Now that things are a little slower in terms of day to day news, I figured it's as good a time as any.
Orrville coaching legend Morris "Mo" Tipton has been nominated and accepted into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association's (OHSFCA) Hall of Fame.
