Lost in the madness of everything was another solid performance by the Orrville swimming program. Still in it's infancy as a recognized OHSAA sport at Orrville, the team again placed multiple swimmers on the state podium....and held their own against the big-time programs in Ohio.
Here's a quick summary from the state meet and a look back at some great accomplishments by this group of very accomplished swimmers.
State Meet
Orrville medaled in 3 events. The 200 Medley Relay team (Vic. Monheim, Vin. Monheim, Mason Monheim & Kyle Likens) finished 8th, Mason Monheim finished 7th in the 50 Freestyle, and the 200 Freestyle Relay (Vic. Monheim, Vin. Monheim, Mason Monheim & Kyle Likens) team also finished 7th.
Career Totals
Victor Monheim ends his career with 4 years All Conference Honors, 2 OCC Championships, 6 District Medals, All Ohio Honors (3 times) and 2 State Medals.
Vincent Monheim ends his career 4 years All Conference Honors, 6 District Medals, All Ohio Honors 3 times, 2 time State Medalist.
Kyle Likens ends his career with 4 years All Conference Honors, 6 District Medals, 2 State Medals, All Ohio Honors 4 times
Mason Monheim, 2nd year All Conference, 3 District Medals, 3 All-Ohio Honors, 3 State Medals. For his career, 2 time All Conference, 1 OCC Championship, 7 time District Medalist, 6 Time All Ohio Honoree and a 4 time State Medalist.
These three seniors, in their 4 years as Red Rider swimmers, have been a part of:
More than 30 OCC Conference Medals, 23 NE District Medals, 14 Ohio State Tournament event appearances, 10 All Ohio Honors, 8 State Tournament Medals.
Out of close to 200 teams participating in boys Division II swimming we finished 12th.
